Daffodil University signs MoU with University of Massachusetts Lowell, USA
Data Science Lab of Department of Software Engineering of Daffodil International University (DIU), Bangladesh and CUBICS (Cognitive Ubiquitous Computing and Systems) Lab of the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML), USA have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 8th May, 2021. Dr. Nadir Bin Ali, Associate Professor & Additional Registrar of DIU and Dr. Mohammad Arif Ul Alam, Assistant Professor, UML signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.. The virtual MoU signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Md. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO, Daffodil Family & Senator, Dr. Imran Mahmud, Head, Department of Software Engineering (SWE), Atqiya Munwara Mahi, Ph.D. Student and Research Assistant, UML, Mohammad Akter Ul Alam, Assistant Director, DIU, Afsana Begum, Assistant Professor, SWE, DIU and Md. Shohel Arman, Senior Lecturer, DIU.
UML and DIU agree to establish a “Joint Data Science Lab” to confirm cooperation in research collaborations and project works jointly. Through this partnership, the CUBICS Lab of UML will function as a technical resource provider that is responsible to furnish students of the Department of Software Engineering with the latest research areas of Data Science. Meanwhile, the Data Science Lab of the Department of Software Engineering, DIU will function as a data provider and also engage the data science, major students, in world-class data science research and joint publication. This cooperation will definitely be a leap for the Department of Software Engineering, Daffodil International University to develop not only skills but also data science-based solutions that could transform the everyday for industry and society.
