“Without inner peace, outer peace is impossible” – Geshe Kelsang Gyatso

International Day of Peace is observed globally on 21 September every year. This year, it has been clearer than ever that we are not each other’s enemy, rather our common enemy is a tireless virus that threatens our health, security, and every way of life. COVID-19 has thrown our world into turmoil and forcibly reminded us that what happens in one part of the planet can impact people everywhere. The 2020 tag line for the International Day of Peace is “Shaping Peace Together.” Celebrate the day by spreading compassion, kindness, and hope in the face of the pandemic. Daffodil International School (English Medium), Dhanmondi has observed the day with all students and teachers through a virtual conference on Google Meet. The audience was welcomed by Assistant Vice-Principal Madam, Mrs. Mohsina Sharmin Nishat, which was followed by “Craft & Placards Show & Speech” by the students. Later an educational documentary was presented by Senior Teacher, ICT, and Computer Science, Mr. Ronald Rodrick. The program concluded with an inspirational and motivational speech from the Honourable Principal, Dr. Md Mahmudul Hassan. The students were much enlightened in shaping and maintaining a peaceful environment.
