Country’s renowned online education expert Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman has joined in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of Daffodil International University (DIU) since 01 January 2021. Before joining DIU Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman was the head of the ICTE department at Bangabandhu Digital University. He is best known for his founding initiative in online education at Bangabandhu Digital University and Islamic University of Technology (IUT).

Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman completed his PhD in online & digital education from Monash University in Australia. The title of his thesis was ‘Distance Education Framework for Developing Countries’. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Computer Science and IT from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT). He also holds another postgraduate degree in data analysis from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA.

In his academic career, Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman has received Paper Publication Award from Monas Institute of Graduate Research, Monash Education Research Community Award from Monash University, International PostGraduate Research Scholarship given by the Government of Australia, Best coordinator awards from Islamic University of Technology and many others.
