Daffodil International University ranked Topped again in Bangladesh by ‘UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2020’

Daffodil International University (DIU) has achieved the top position in Bangladesh for the fourth consecutive year in the ‘UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2020’, released on 7 December 2020. It is another milestone of DIU’s continuous commitment towards ensuring a conducive and international standard educational environment in compliance with the sustainable development goals of the UN which positively impacts the students, society, environment and the earth as well. As per the rankings, DIU has been ranked 181st globally while Wageningen University & Research, Netherland and University of Oxford, UK ranked first and second in this ranking list respectively.

All participating universities are ranked based on six indicators – Setting and Infrastructure (15%), Energy and Climate Change (21%), Waste (18%), Water (10%), Transportation (18%), and Education (18%).

The UI GreenMetric measures the contributions of the listed universities towards environmental sustainability and SDGs through research and activities nationally and internationally. At DIU, the Department of Environmental Science & Disaster Management; Architecture; Civil Engineering; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Textile Engineering; Computer Science & Engineering; Nutrition & Food Engineering; Public Health contributed to this endeavor.

It may be mentioned that recently, Daffodil International University also achieved a prestigious position in the QS Asia University Rankings-2021 which signifies an international standard quality of education of the university as a result of discovering new ideas through research and publications.
